I was explaining the appeal of Gina Carano to someone and they eventually just looked at me and said: "So you have a girl-crush, right? Is that what you're saying?"

At the time I said yes, but I think what I actually meant was that I almost never come out of movies wanting to be one of the female characters. And grantedly, Mallory Kane is pretty much the toughest Smurfette ever in that film, because we literally never see more than one other woman occupying the frame with her. But...in the moment, it just doesn't matter.;)

Gina is awesome! I can't afford to see this movie right now, but I'm so excited at the idea of seeing a real, honest-to-god fighter on the screen instead of some movie-kung-fu girl.
