Wings, step 2 by Amanda Downum
Wings, step 2, a photo by Amanda Downum on Flickr.

The wing-bones have been cut and wrapped in electrical tape. I wanted to be good and have three wing sections, but between the weight and stability issues, I've decided to err on the side of simplicity. I don't know where the bones are going yet.

My copper was last seen in Mesquite. UPS thinks it will be here tomorrow.

I keep hearing an announcer's voice intoning "The glory of her horrid wings" which is oh so wrong. *g*

How did you make/acquire the bones?

It's been too long since a biology class to explain how osseous tissue grows. The simpler version is that a friend of mine lives in the middle of nowhere and finds a lot of dead wildlife.
