For all you Buffy fans, I recommend Reading the Vampire Slayer: An Unofficial Critical Companion to Buffy and Angel, edited by Roz Kaveney. It contains some very intelligent and interesting essays on themes and influences in the Buffyverse, and a handy episode guide through season 5. And lots of particularly funny quotes. A nice stocking stuffer for that academic geek in your life.
