Oh, Jackie Earle Haley. I love you. Don't make me watch bad movies.

The new Elm Street wasn't actually that bad, comparatively. It mainly suffered from the lack of characterization and poor pacing that plagues Hollywood these days. But Jackie Earle Haley is love.

It made me sad, if only because I keep hoping for a Nightmare on Elm Street movie that lives up to the promise of the concept. And, yeah--DAMN, on the lack of characterization. So it goes.

That sums it up pretty well. I also didn't think it was possible to make a movie with Clancy Brown where he didn't run around with dead animals strapped to his crazy ass as he bellowed and swung around a giant sword. Now that I've seen the proof that such a thing is possible I can't say that it's preferable.

Does Haley make up for the lack of Johnny Depp?
