People are strange

Last night I went to Elysium for our regularly scheduled 80s night, and witnessed something I have never before seen in my nearly 13 years of goth club attendance.
A few seconds into "Master & Servant" the DJ blew a fuse. Much booing and shouting and stamping followed, as is to be expected. Then something odd happened. A group of people on stage began stamping in time. Then they started dancing. Then they started chanting. It was...well, it was a rain dance. I don't know these people, and I don't know if they do this often, but their timing and precision were uncanny. Someone was wearing a mask that I saw at no other point during the night. The rest of the dancefloor went quiet, and people started trickling over from around the club to watch. It made my skin prickle. If one were to espouse magickal thinking, that club was an antenna to talk to god.
The the DJ got power back, and the song started, and we continued dancing with no more strangeness for the rest of the night.
That is going into a book.
