As the owner of a dog who once ate my favorite stuffed animal, half my prom dress, a corner of the living room carpet, a newspaper, and part of the stone-and-grout fireplace at my parents' house, I can sympathize.
On the plus side, it's a good excuse to buy another copy of a beloved book. Yay!

It shows a certain kind of WTF creative intelligence - I didn't think a four-footed beastie who does not itself wear footwear could actually have the mental acuity to tell a right shoe from the left shoe - but there you have it. Weird dog nom fact. Make of it what you will.
