I bought this today.

Let's take a moment now to mock this cover.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

How many seconds would the Cullens last against Jesse and the gang, I wonder?

In other exciting news, my story "The Garden, The Moon, The Wall", originally published in Ideomancer, will be reprinted in [livejournal.com profile] squirrel_monkey's Running With The Pack anthology.

This doesn't make up for the fact that I haven't written any new short fiction in two years, but is very pleasing none-the-less.

That is the best vampire movie ever made. Though it never uses the word vampire.

They'd take out the Twilight folks in .002 seconds.

One of Jeff's friends said that was the best vampire move ever. He let us borrow it. We watched an hour and gave it back. Not even Jeff, who loves bad vampire movies, could take it. :P

'gratz on the reprint; it's a warm fuzzy feeling when you know it's not for naught, innit?

That cover (and movie) looks right on part with John Carpenter's Vampires. Cullens would last (sparkle) about 3.67 seconds, give or take a millisecond. It would be brief, but vastly amusing.

Belated congrats your own bad self--that story rules the ghoul school!

That cover, on the other hand--Dracula wept. I heard they abandoned a planned remake of Near Dark for concerns that it would be too close to Twilight so I guess they did the next best (read: worse) thing by aping the oh-so-pretty cover. May's cautionary dialogue with Caleb during their "date" at the beginning alone is more beautiful and haunting than everything in Meyer's (unintentionally) creepy fucking saga put together. Just a great movie, period--any special features on the special edition? Thought I heard Bigelow did a commentary but maybe I'm imagining that...and have you seen her Hurt Locker yet? Wasn't very interested until I found out who made it and now I'm hankering--seeing her Strange Days in early high school blew me away.
