I'm once again looking for new music, this time to liven up The Bone Palace's soundtrack. I'm looking for creepy, sad, and gothy this time around, particularly anything with ghosts or demons or bones. Cold and electronic is good, but preferably not stuff that will put me to sleep. I have a lot of pretty instrumental stuff already.

So far I have a lot of Garbage, Gary Numan, Shriekback, The Sisters of Mercy, :Wumpscut:, Delerium, and the Cure, but that's like 85% of my playlists. :P

Any suggestions?

Charpentier's "Le Reniement de Saint Pierre" is an a capella choral piece that will rip your heart out. And it's in Latin, so the words are unlikely to distract you.

Do you have any Klaus Nomi? I'm particularly fond of his rendition of "The Twist".

H.I.M.,
King Diamond & King's band Mercyful Fate; hubby is looking for the album names for you. King Diamond has this song Abigale about an unborn baby who ?tries to kill her parents? something like that.

King has an amazing vocal range, I personally don't care for it but it is impressive, it takes some getting used to. His music is far from cheerful.

Alice Cooper's song Steven also comes to mind.

Marilyn Manson's version of These Dreams.

Hubby says that King Diamond's Puppet Master cd, the entire album covers all those moods. Or Mercyful Fate's Melissa album(hubby says it is considered to be the all time Black Metal album). Youtube has TONS of King Diamond and Mercyful fate vids, you might want to check it out.

"Love Will Tear Us Apart" is on there. "Shadowplay" and "Dead Souls" are on another soundtrack.

I love that song, and it totally ought to work, but my brain is a fussy fussy beast.

Okay, um, here's some more. :D

I'm Deranged - David Bowie
Midnight Voyage - Ghostland Observatory
Lost, ACF, Red On White, or Can't Happen Here - Stabbing Westward
Ghost of You - My Chemical Romance
Haunt Me - Miss Volatile (it's [livejournal.com profile] tlcadence, you can get it here (http://www.garageband.com/song?|pe1|S8LTM0LdsaSlYleyZGs))
Roads - Portishead
Secret Message - Dr. Steel
Nine Lives - Midnight Juggernauts
Oh Lately It's Oh So Quiet - Ok Go
This House Is Haunted - Alice Cooper
You Can Run But We'll Find You - Matchbook Romance

I don't know if any of that will help, because my idea of the "mood" of songs is usually painfully askew when compared to most other people, but maybe if these don't work, they'll remind you of something that will :D

you need:

Manufactura: In the Company of Wolves

especially Manufactura VS Broken Fabiola) "Cut by loving Hands"

the whole cd is outstanding, including the remix of "Get your Body Beat"

This sounds promising so far! Is it all remixes?

i think it's a bit like a remixWar release, but it's not ALL remixes, no. Like, there's a Swans cover, too.

the combichrist one the lyrics are completely different, it's just the Get Your Body Beat in the background.

anyway, it's super dark but stompy.

You might try VNV Nation, also.

Man, if I had access to my old computer, I could spit out a list of stuff for you. Friend of mine was always sending me stuff like this.

Also the group Within Temptation. Somewhat similar to Evanescence.

"Cold" is on the soundtrack already. I really love old VNV, but I equally-really despise Future Perfect, and haven't liked an album of theirs since. It makes me sad.
