Nothing like internet slapfights to remind me of the irony that my chosen profession consists of communicating with other talking monkeys, when there are few things I loathe more. Ah well. (Yes, my defense mechanism of choice when faced with an argument wherein everyone dismisses everyone else is dismissal. What's a girl to do?)

Though I may be insufficient as a monkey, I'm at least a virtuous dogmom this week. Gretchen even managed to pay attention to at least three-fourths of class before turning into a raging spaz. Pretty good considering how many weeks we've missed lately.

And most important, I've finally stayed up late enough to see both of the teahouse foxes go to sleep. I'm kind of sad for the backyard fox, who suffers from gigantism and is too big to sleep indoors.

As crappy as Interfights are, if nothing else, I learned some things about Indian culture I didn't know. I figure even the most obnoxious blog drama has to have a silver lining, and it did!

However, I did spend my writing time this morning reading and commenting instead, and I envy your glittering blue wordbar. >:| hahaha

That'll teach me...

My response was a very circumspect post with the context filed off. :)

Good for Gretchen! It's easy to forget that dog attention spans != human ones.

I thought that teahouse fox was choosing to sleep outside because the weather was always so nice!

WAIT THERE ARE TWO FOXES?!

Why have I never seen the other one?

Although i did come to check my email one insomnia-filled night and found that while the teahouse fox sleeps, ghost foxes play cards at the garden table.

There's a teahouse theme for gmail.com and a teahouse theme for google's iGoogle personalized home page. They seem to occupy different aspects of the same teahouse but are out of phase with each other. :)

I think you are a wonderfully sufficient monkey.

Yes, me too. And I thought that although there was dismissal on some parts, in many parts there were not dismissals. There was engagement. Difficult engagement.

Yes, and the conversation itself is important. But then the twits and the Professionally Dissatisfied show up, and it turns into the same slapfight we have every year, Pinky. I'm glad engagement still happens around them.

You're right.

Dog momma pics? Pics of doggies make everything better. (I think this is a universal truth).
