Yes, that would be [livejournal.com profile] tanaise's fault, and The ISB's. And well, Jim Balent's, but really I blame [livejournal.com profile] tanaise.

After that, I can't really manage a serious response to [livejournal.com profile] matociquala's excellent post about othering. Maybe tonight or tomorrow. Instead you will get blathering and proustian minutiae.

Yesterday was spent cursing Vista as I tried to connect to coffee shop wireless, waiting for the repair shop to call, and then crying over the estimate and walking home. (Yes, the shop would have given me a ride, but it was a nice day.) And on the walk home, who should start pestering me but the fauxMayans, of the eponymous FauxMayanRedactedSporkingSueStravaganza. Which maybe needs a better working title. Not the book I have a deadline for, or the book I nearly have a draft of, of course.

Mostly at this stage I'm still worldbuilding and trying to decide how much craziness to pile on my Sue. Fulfillment of prophecy, check; suitably Speshul name, check; albinism and/or weirdly colored eyes.... not sure yet. She'll definitely have companion animals in times of need, but they won't be exactly the usual kind.

If I want more plot, I'm going to need some antagonists. The Sue does what Sues do, but right now the real protagonists don't have any goals or obstacles or wiles to thwart. I know it's a book about prophecies (since I hate them so much as a plot device, I had to write a book about them), but hopefully more Bene Gesserit-style social manipulation as opposed to the Rivan Codex.

Or maybe this book should take a number and wait in the queue with the rest. :P

I still think "Xibalba is for lovers" is an *excellent* working title.

I know that I shouldn't ask, and yet I can't help myself:

How does one remove a vagina?

If you are asking us where the logic is in this comic, I am afraid you're going to have to find it on your own. I have been blinded by the awful. (Also: be sure to read the comments. They often answer questions you never knew you had.)

No, no. Logic is clearly not on offer here. I'm just kind of wondering if Jim Balent actually knows what a vagina is.

From my reading of this and other Tarot reviews, i have learned that in theory he certainly should, as he's married to someone who the main character? another female character? is based on.
