Golden Army is not without sequelitis flaws, namely stopping too often to show off the pretty (which, yeah, is fucking pretty--del Toro has never failed me aesthetically), and some relationship stuff that was not as cute as someone clearly found it, nor actually cute at all. But it also has my celebrity boyfriend in red latex, Doug Jones doing his own vocal work, and Luke Goss looking hot in makeup and daddy issues and apocalyptic urges. (I will write a book just to cast Luke Goss and his hot makeup and daddy issues and apocalyptic urges. And I'll give him the apocalypse.) And I think GA made all the important choices correctly. Except not giving Luke Goss his apocalypse, of course.

I'm especially glad they ditched Myers and his role as Joe Everyman-Monster-Filter. The initial critter-fight made it pretty clear what happens to Joe Everymen when they go against monsters.

I thought the relationship stuff with Liz and Red could have been worked in more subtly and that it might have made a bigger impact that way. I loved the relationship stuff with Abe...and the singing sequence.

Loved the elemental and the troll market. So many intricate pieces involved in those scenes.

Very layered movie.

When was the last time you have a physical or had a visit to a dermitologist? Remember skin cancer runs in the family.
