I had to show off this awesome icon I snerched from copperwise.

Also, Cloverfield does not suck, despite the early roller derby to boyfriend imbalance and weapons-dropping dumbness that cmpriest mentioned. And dude--when all the animals around you are running away? Run with them. What is that last garbled thing said after the credits?

I've slogged through 175 pages of TDC so far, adding exposition (yes, you heard that right) and crunchy bits and hacking through the horrible comma-thickets and mire of awkward sentences. In addition to the justs and onlies and barelies and as ifs that I already noticed, I also have an unhealthy attachment to the "before X could Y, Z happened" construction.

This made me smile. While I was hacking away at my recently completed book, I noticed an unhealthy attachment to "barely" and also "practically"... Everything would "practically" happen - "she practically flew threw the doorway"... "it practically landed on top of him". *sigh* Either it did or it didn't, right?
