20,000 into the second draft of Dreams. I hit the beginning of chapter 6 and promptly applied the breaks, as this is where the changes in the first 5 chapters start to matter. Giant chunks of dialogue must be scrapped and done from scratch.

So far the prose is much better. Alex is happier because he has better verbs. Liz has plot jewelry, and has only made one LoTR crack so far. Her restraint is admirable. Alex is also less gay, according to

matociquala's logic, as the chartreuse has been replaced with more prosaic scotch.

Soon I need to start outlining madly for NaNo. No way I'm trying for 50k without some serious outlines.
