Reason for stopping: I have to figure out if this scene ends in a massacre or not.
Darling: Nope, all kinda sucky.
Tyop: Nope, all kinda sucky.
Mean things: The protags lost. Massacre still pending.
Sustenance: chicken sammich
Mammalian assistance: the cat has a breath weapon, and she's not afraid to use it.
Other assistance: Iwrong wrote the last 300 words to Lynch's Dune. In between the screaming at the TV and the howls of laughter. That movie is crack. Bad, bad, voice-over crack.
So I figured out the way to get through tough scenes: write badly. This scene has no setting, no detail, and a whole lot of suck, but it's very nearly done. Also, I took most of the daring out of the piracy.
(Ack, ack, they put an expository voice-over intro on Firefly! Please, god, make the voice-overs stop!)
