Darling: This is the first time they've every played outside the Rust Belt--a last minute replacement for the Southwestern leg after Parthenogenesis's lead singer came down with appendicitis--and they haven't been booed offstage once.
Reason for stopping: Two pages of relationship angst, one page of band angst, and now the monster's showed up. What happens now? I kicked out the ghost, and now I don't know how Janey escapes being eaten by the lamia.

What do we think lamia eat, anyway, besides blood and perhaps live mice?

They're your basic Greek predatory females, so I'd say live meat, human if they can get it. A "nice" lamia could keep rats, squirrels, pigs, and the like and slaughter them for food when wanted. She might prefer live meat, or at least freshly killed (the pain and suffering is optional; she really just needs the protein). But really, fresh human is best of all. Lots of calories. If you want to insult a lamia, offer her the vegetarian entree.
