The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray - Chris Wooding
Magic for Beginners - Kelly Link
The Witch of Cologne - Tobsha Learner (yeah, mostly bought this for the cover, I mean, history and stuff)

I had forgotten how much I loved Friedman's Coldfire trilogy. With the loff. That is, I loff Gerald Tarrant with all the loff. He is one of my favorite beautiful monsters. I wish real sociopaths were half as entertaining. :P

Oh yeah--and Friedman is one of the few authors I have ever seen make a world with multiple moons and actually think about how that would effect tides and such. My god, teh logic.

I hope you'll post on The Witch of Cologne after you've read it; I was very curious about it. And The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray, once you've gotten past the first paragraph. ;)
