I am working virtuously on the CEM for Bone Palace, and letting Kingdoms percolate. This has already produced results. For the past several days I've idly thought Gee, that mysterious woman in black will remind Adam of another mysterious woman in black in his past. Today my subconscious finally stopped politely clearing its throat and yelled That's because they are the same woman, you twit!

Presto--instant backstory, angst, and conflict. And even better, another chunk of plot and characters cut free of the rotting corpse of the juvenilia project known as Falling Towers and given a new lease on life.
