SNOW DAY!

Snow! In Austin! I didn't believe it, but it is rattling against the windows and sticking to the roof even as I type. Snow!

The dog, having been made to poo in the snow, is less amused.

Now I will shower and enpant and have some sort of hearty snow day breakfast, and then finish rearranging my bookcases. There may be pictures when I'm done.

Alas, my snow is melting. It was nice while it lasted.

Operation: Living Room will not be finished today. The dust bunny army isn't much for strategy, but they have the numbers. I have most of the books corralled and organized, but we're still hunting a few deserters and pockets of resistance. This is starting to feel like a land war in Asia.

Next I think I'll move the gaming, art, and visual reference (read "coffee table books") out here. Maybe by then the secret of Chapter 3 will have revealed itself to me.

It is entirely [livejournal.com profile] mr_earbrass's fault that I am watching Conan the Destroyer right now.

Sure, it's not as good as Barbarian, but screw it. Grace Jones! Wilt Chamberlain the Nongol! Taramis's sweet evil queen outfits! This movie still has more awesome per square foot than many other films.

Next I will watch Barbarian again, and if I'm not too plastered after that, Red Sonja!

Red Sonja, alas, doesn't hold up even remotely as well as Destroyer. Brigitte Nielson's mullet has no rival, but Sandahl Bergman's evil queen outfits suck, and Barbarian is a more feminist film. I've made a note that my next book needs a badass lesbian warrior queen, though.

Maybe Mad Max Beyond Raganarok should end with Sigrun becoming queen....
