Girl vs. serendipitous cats
Apr. 13th, 2009 10:30 pmA good climbing night, though pretty mellow, as I spent most of it hanging out with new people on some of the easier routes. Afterward is when it gets interesting.
So, I'm leaving the gym when I see something small running in the parking lot (which is next to yet another parking lot and a very busy street). I slow down. It's a kitty. I look at kitty. Kitty looks at my car. I drive a little more. Kitty doesn't leave. I pull over and get out. Kitty doesn't run. I talk to kitty in my best stupid monkey voice. Kitty runs up to say hi. Kitty is thin but soft, and perfectly willing to be snuggled, and has no collar. I contemplate the likelihood of kitty having a home. I contemplate the parking lots and the very busy street. I take kitty to the car. Kitty is fine with this. I start the car. Still fine. I'm pretty much screwed at this point.
So now there's a New Kitty wandering about the house. I probably shouldn't even contemplate the odds of her being pregnant, should I?
