I'm trying to track down the original copyright of Emily Dickinson's "Drowning is not so pitiful", and not having much luck. (Why yes, I am crazy enough to want a Dickinson epigraph. Yes, I know others have fought and fallen in this battle before me.) I'm aware of the collection The complete poems of Emily Dickinson, as found on bartleby.com here, but I need to know if this specific poem was published anywhere previously.

If you can find this out for me, you win my eternal gratitude, as well as other fabulous undisclosed internet prizes.

So far today I have:

*Signed and mailed in my contracts. Hurrah for contracts!

*Bought chain for and made a birthday present, precious.

*Bought coffee and a cinnamon roll that were more than I could afford. Luckily, financial irresponsibility makes pastries even more delicious.

*Solved a copyright question. Delegated to LiveJournal the solving of a copyright question. [livejournal.com profile] truepenny is, as always, a hero of the revolution.

I was going to walk the dog, but now it's raining, windy, and cold, so I think that particular virtue will not be met today. So now I have three hours before climbing to accomplish some writing.

I present you with an image that better explains my writing day:

Three new routes sent tonight, two 5.8s and a 5.9. And a new V0. If I can do this well next week, I may be off a plateau. Good times, good times.

The Bone Palace
Curse you, zokutou! Come back!
Words today: 952
Words total: 21,540
Reason for stopping: the words have bled from me and I can think no more
Tyop: when the made had left
Darling: Richard O'Brien!
Mean things: (this really might as well be mean things the book does to me--there are more of those than the other kind) Richard O'Brien (I should probably start calling him Varis, or this will get creepy) has an inappropriate crush, who is in no way related to this plot. And he tells me she's a poetess. She is also the makings of a raging Sue. Help me. Also, this setting is not supposed to be Victoriana, but try telling it that.
