But the glory days and the goldrush are over

We saw the Brothers Grimm tonight. I walked out of the theatre thinking 'meh, that was boring.' But the more I think about it, the worse it becomes, and the more aggravated I get. Argh. At first I thought maybe the idea was some sort of 'all stories are true' thing that fell flat. But maybe the real message was that Germans were dirty and superstitious and the French had silly accents. The movie was a collection of bad accents, some of them funny, some very annoying. I love how a British accent lends authenticity to any period film, no matter where it's actually set.

But Monica Bellucci is the fairest of them all, though. I've always known that.

The soundtrack to Skeleton Key is gorgeous, gorgeous and loffly. I cannot take it off repeat.

We were going to see it yesterday. Instead we finally saw Kung Fu Hustle. I'm glad we changed our mind.

I hated The Brothers Grimm - wanted my money back, in fact. I left the theater thinking that it was a ridiculous piece of over-acted, French-hating flotsam, if a rather pretty one. I just told myself that I was really only there for Monica Bellucci, anyway. I'd pay to see her read the dictionary, I think.

Ditto on the Skeleton Key soundtrack. Now there's a movie I don't regret shelling out $9 to see.

thx for the review, dude. you're the third person who's told me it's not worth seeing. *won't see*

I think I'd only see that movie for Monica Belucci. I'm shallow.
