NaNoRevMo

While waiting on the tentacles, I've updated my NaNo account. I don't ever really NaNo, but I'm going to be logging my rewrite of Dreams there, since I'd like to get it done in the next month. I'm exoblivione, if anyone wants another buddy. It's always fun to watch the wordcounts climb.

The gothtopus evolves. Tomorrow the skirt will be finished, and I can start seriously working on my hair. (Clicky on the picture and scroll for pics of the wig, including the wig wearing an elisem necklace crown.)

Our memes

csinman posted about common themes in his writing, and asked about ours. Baaaaaah, says the memesheep. (I will answer this one somewhat seriously, as opposed to the goofy "You know you're reading a story by me if--" thing that went around a couple years ago.)

Story elements I am (over)fond of:

• Transformations


• Bindings--whether they're magic, oaths, duty, obligation, etc.--and the struggling against thereof


• Spies, or sekrit agent types


• Romance (the sex and relationships variety)


• Under/otherworlds


• Beautiful monsters (or at least cute ones)


• Oceans, or other bodies of water

Even Salvage, the sandbox challenge, has at least four of those. Maybe five, if I ever get an alien pov character.

Yes, Dreams must fall in November. I'm getting the urge to work on something new for a while.
