Since my climbing buddy wanted to go, I got up at 9:30 this morning to go to the gym, despite being awoken at 2 in the morning by the pain in my fingertips, and not getting back to sleep for three hours because of the pain in my elbows. (I shudder to think what I would have felt like if we hadn't been using gri-gris.)

But when I got there, the gym was not open. Since this was already an hour after their scheduled opening time, we gave them fifteen more minutes and then bailed. Now I get to do blessed nothing for the rest of the day. I may try to throw myself against this awful chapter again, after proper caffeine infusions.

As Steven and I were coming home ten minutes ago, I saw a small dog running in our rather busy street. So I went to investigate, and found a small mop-like dog running amok. He has a collar but no tags, is super friendly but horribly matted and dirty, and was unknown to anyone I talked to on that block. So now he's in my living room, getting to know the bear trap. Tomorrow I'll take him to the vet and see if he's chipped, I guess.

ETA: Does anyone know about tiny mop-dog breeds? He's short, shaggy, tan-colored, with a curly plumey tail. Looks kind of like an ewok...
