Sep. 4th, 2008 03:35 pmKansas, like Nebraska, is very flat. And there's a lot of it. But I survived, and am in Colorado now. I dumped my stuff at my grandparent's, walked the dog, and promptly ran down the street to the cafe with wireless. Its very existence is proof that the Great Old Ones aren't all bad.
The best part of Kansas was--about halfway through the interminable drive--a billboard that read "If you die today, where will you spend ETERNITY?" Reader, I was sore afeared. Right after that was another sign that said "Choose life". I agree--life is better than an eternity in Kansas.
But I immediately had an idea for a not-a-Tam-Lin-story set in Durance, Kansas.
