The novel appears to be trundling merrily along (not that I trust that for a second), but I still need to finish some short stories this year. My latest rejection means that I no longer have any subs out, and that's scary.

So, in the next four months I need to:

  • Revise/rewrite "Tenderness of Jackals", because it's been sitting in the trunk for 8 months now for no good reason.

  • Submit "Wounded in the Wing" somewhere else, as soon as I can figure out where.

  • Finish "Waves Like White Elephants" (and find it a title).

  • Finish "Flood", to have a backup lovecraftian thingamajig.

  • Finish "Bone Garden", because really, it's been a year and a half and I have 3k already.

  • Start my [livejournal.com profile] livelongnmarry story, which will make me flesh out my Post Apophis sfnal universe (which also contains "Teneral" and "Needlepoint")

The list )

12. The Orphan's Tales: In the Cities of Coin & Spice - Cathrynne Valente

I read this on the plane to ReaderCon, continuing my trend of picking books that make me cry in public. I'm pretty sure these two books combine to form a perfect thing. I shall investigate by rereading one of these days.

13. Silk - Caitlin R. Kiernan (reread)

14. Wicked Lovely - Melissa Marr

I like this quite a bit. Not entirely as deep or crunchy as I prefer, but I like the way she handles all the relationships. I'll pick up Ink Exchange pretty soon.
