Why must The Hedgehog Review be critical reflections on contemporary culture? I was really hoping for a publication by hedgehogs, for hedgehogs. (And no, it's not contemporary hedgehog culture--I checked.)

The fish girl story continues, weighing in at about 2100 words so far, with more scribbled in a notebook at home. This story is very hard, but does not yet hate me. I hope I don't break it. To everyone who read and commented, thank you very much.

I'm reading House of Leaves. Wow. After years and years and years, I've finally found a book I shouldn't read alone at night. So of course I will. I can only dream of writing something so creepy. I loff it. Except when he uses "should of" instead of "should have". Then I want to track him down and spork him till he begs forgiveness.

The fishgirl story continues, sadly without title.

Words tonight: 622
Words total: 2721
Sustenance: tazo chai
Reason for stopping: beddy bed bed
Tyop du jour: ...she melted against him with a strangled sog.
Darling du jour: "If you're going to stalk me, don't you think you should at least buy me dinner first?"

This story is brought to you by Edna St. Vincent Millay's Witch-Wife and the Cocteau Twins.
