DARKNESS
The waves were dead; the tides were in their grave,
The moon, their mistress, had expir'd before;
The winds were wither'd in the stagnant air,
And the clouds perish'd; Darkness had no need
Of aid from them -- She was the Universe.
Bottled gloom; the essence of oblivion. Blackest opium and narcissus deepened by myrrh.
Hmm... Drat. I don't seem to be able to give this one a proper review. It smells like an oil I used to buy at RenFaire called China White, so I guess that's the opium. My nose doesn't know narcissus or myrrh well enough to pick out the notes. Maybe I should grab some myrrh at the local hippie shop so I can memorize it. This is pretty, though.
I need to learn more smells!

and resinous.
It's the bitter smell in churches. Frankincense is the sweet one.
