God help me. I liked it.
My minimal expectations--that Simon Pegg would be funny and Zoe Saldana would be hot--were met and surpassed. On top of that, Zachary Quinto was surprisingly good, and Chris Pine did his own thing, which was probably for the best. And while I knew from the previews that Karl Urban was trying very hard, I'm glad to report that he in fact succeeded. And throwing in some honest-to-god Leonard Nimoy was the best thing they could have done.
