Vindaloo is a vinegar and tomato-based curry. It's very hot (though not as hot as phaal). It usually comes in chicken or lamb, and some places serve it vegetarian. The 'aloo' is a false cognate--potatoes aren't involved.

If you like spicy, it's the best damn curry ever.
