Well, it's a draft, at least.
The Drowning City
It's horrible and awful and one important bit at the end is resolved in an author's note because I'm not writing another word for a week. But it's done. Tomorrow I'll shake out some typos on the last scene and then send it to my beloved beta-readers. Then I'll clean the house for company and go eat sushi for someone else's birthday. And on Sunday I go to New Orleans for an honest to god Christmas Vacation.
The only uncool thing about this week is brought to me by Mr. Psycho von Flaum, who cost me over $400 at the vet today by coming down with a raging bladder infection and urate crystals. I feel his pain (I had a kidney infection once, believe me I feel it), and feel worse realizing that he's probably had this thing for a couple weeks now, but I point out that his normal behaviour is so horrendous and abominable that I only realized two days ago that something was wrong with him. :P I would hope that this experience teaches him something, but I know better.
