All knowledge is contained in LJ

Is there anyone out there who has experience sailing, or knows about/has researched ships, or who's at least read some Hornblower or Aubrey/Maturin novels and would be willing to look at a scene for me, when I've finished it?

I've sailed a tiny bit in dinghies. But you might want to hold out for someone with actual experience in tallships.

[livejournal.com profile] katatomic lives on a boat.

She is also very, very nice, and a fellow writer who would totally understand the request. Granted, she might be busy -- but she's really cool, and I strongly doubt she'd be offended by the asking :)

I sail, but my experience is all with small boats (less than 23'). very different beast. but yay for sailing in fiction!

Crewed on a couple of tall ships, always happy to read stuff.

Bless you! Whenever I finish it (and get some of the suck out), I'll send it your way.
