Hello club-ear, my old friend.

It's so much nicer seeing Combichrist when I'm not coming off painkillers with holes in my jaw.

But we all know how much ass Combichrist kicks, so instead let me take a moment to sing the praises of Ayria. They are awesome live, and Jennifer Parkin is even more gorgeous in person. I hope they don't carry the Manson curse--I couldn't see them with the Cruxshadows, and last night we were 20 minutes late due to I-35 being governed by chaos and ass-clowns. (I had tix to Manson and Slayer. Instead I have to go to Colo-fucking-rado for a family gettogether that weekend. :P ) Walking in half-way through my second favorite song (Horrible Dream) was annoying, but they closed with my favorite-favorite (My Revenge on the World), so all was well. And did I mention that Jennifer Parkin is hot?

Next up on the concert roster, Patti Smith. What is this cognitive dissonance of which you speak?

Ayria -- lots of fun to go to dinner with as well. She and her co-conspirator in frenzied and sometimes angry electro-whatever have some serious energy that doesn't stop when they bounce off the stage. For the life of me, I can never arrange to be in the same city with Combichrist, at least not on the same day. Patti Smith? Cognitive dissonance? Nah...just the spiritual precursor to Angry-Electro...yeah, that's the ticket. Enjoy!

I have not forgotten the music I'm putting together for you, by the way. Just slow and being distracted by in-laws in the house.

Please -- don't worry about it. I'm spending the next week closer to my home turf (DC and Virginia) so I won't be online as much. The music will be welcome when you have the chance...honestly, I'm looking more forward to one of your stories in the near future (maybe?) not that the music isn't something I look forward to. [and now I return to zombie apocalypse movie #26 for a believe-it-to-not article on the Book of revelations meet Matheson, Romero, secular humanism, commercialism, and corporate greed.]

I'm also envying you the show. I still no NO ONE in the Detroit scene (90 miles away), so I don't get out much and Ministry was the last show for me so far this year.
