More title musing

In discussions with my plot-boy last night, it turns out that I probably do have four books in my Hastur cycle instead of three. At least I'm not running out of ideas.

But this means I have a book in need of a title. (Yes, this is not remotely the book I'm working on now, so what?)

In keeping with title conventions, it needs a noun and prepositional phrase (Dreams of Shreds and Tatters, The King of Moths, A Dirge in Yellow). My first instinct is that the noun should be "oath", in keeping with my generally Hasturian trend.

An Oath of...what?

The book is probably about the Brotherhood of the Yellow Sign and the Trismegistian Order, and a crazy paraplegic WWI fighter-ace who dreams of the moon-drenched shores of his beloved Transexual Carcosa. (Yes, he may be played by Richard O'Brien.)

Any suggestions?

ETA:

An Oath of (Blood and) Madness
Brothers of the Yellow Sign
The Phantom of Truth

The Pallid Mask -- Which I like enough to forgo the preposition

Vote early, vote often.

The first one, but then I like any title with the word "blood" in it.

1, 4, and 2 in that order. 3 sounds like the title of a Terry Goodkind novel to me. :)

It does, doesn't it? Eek!

Not, I rush to add, that there's anything inherently wrong with sounding like the title of a Terry Goodkind novel. Just... Goodkind. Novel. Bad memories.

Behind the Pallid Mask. Then you still have a preposition

I was going to suggest "The Mask of Paleness" :)
