TDC
Words today: 1186 (though that includes old words I stuck into coherent paragraphs)
Words total: 45,829
Reason for stopping: quota, and I need dinner
Sustenance: coffee, and soon to be tortilla soup
Exercise: I am the slug that ate north Texas
Tyop: weeing her expression
Darling: "So you're the foreign mage Asheris is protecting." He made the last word sound like a euphemism for something besides house arrest.
Mean things: Isyllt doesn't like sake any more than I do. Mostly this chapter is mean to me.
Silly things: There's a bit in this chapter where the spies are conspiring mid-dance, and I realized that the music they're dancing to is totally "A View to a Kill". Now I will imagine Simon Le Bon hiding in the corner whenever I see this scene. I want someone to record an instrumental version with eastern instruments. I would give you a dollar and a cookie.
Creepy related research: Snake wine. I just followed a link from an innocent sake page, and BAM, the scary. Of course, when I was done squealing and flailing, Isyllt started talking about how awesome it would be to reanimate a bunch of those snakes and use them as a drunken undead army. I really hope I get a chance to do that in this book.
