Yesterday was a climbing day, and the Partners in Climb went to Reimers Ranch, despite it raining all day. We had the whole park to ourselves, which was awesome. Dead Cats Wall was only moderately wet, so we (by which I mean everyone but me, since I'm the one who can't lead climb yet) set four routes. I sent two 5.7s, one of which I'd done before. Top-roping on wet limestone isn't bad at all, once someone else has done the nerve-wrackingly dangerous job of route setting. After those I lost all my oomph, though, and spectacularly failed to start the last two.

I also had the following mental dialogue before we got to the park: Self, we should put on sunscreen, cloud cover won't protect us. But it's heavy cloud cover, and it's raining! Well, maybe you're right...

No, we were wrong. Now I'm crispy, even though it was raining all day. The yellow face it burns us!
