Oh, for fuck's sake, Book.

Never mind figuring out plot points at 111k--now I just found my MC's relationship song. And it is of course Matthew Good's "Weapon", a song that I adore and which has been searching for a novel for a very long time.

You knew she was an embodiment of entropy when you picked her up, man. Too bad you didn't think to tell me that at the start of this novel.

The latest news about Kage Baker isn't good news.

I never met Kage. I know her only as the stories in Dark Mondays, which I love. [livejournal.com profile] jlassen gave me a copy of Mother Aegypt a few years ago, and I always meant to read it and never did, because my to-read pile is huge and teetering. I think I'll read it now.

Oopsy...

I have got Isyllt & co. up one side of a 20-foot high wall, but now they have to drop down the other side. With no crash pads. And I can't let more than one member of the party break her back or her ankle. Oops.

We will now pause while all the characters stare at me reproachfully.

Project: Valkyrie, the week in review:

Thursday, Jan 21: running group
Friday, Jan 22: hiked 3 miles
Saturday, Jan 23: --
Sunday, Jan 24: --
Monday, Jan 25: climbing (2 new V0s, and a bunch I'd sent before)
Tuesday, Jan 26: yoga
Wednesday, Jan 27: morning run/walk, 15 minutes (I tried to run, but it was not happening. I choose to blame cedar fever for my lack of all stamina), climbing (3 new V0s, a new V0+, and I threw myself against 2 new V1s with progress but no success)

Not too shabby. My running this morning was awful, though--I made it two minutes before I gave up and walked, and that last minute hurt. I really hope it's allergies, or tomorrow morning will be very embarrassing.

1700 words on Bone Palace today, which filled in eleven words of notes. Of course, in the midst of the rioting I forgot the vampires, so I have to back and add them. Our Heroes are over the wall of the villain's lair now, and it's nothing but scenery to fill in till the bossfight.

113164 / 115000 words. 98% done!

I'm thinking of changing the title of this book to Longcat.

I'm also starting to get little pings from Kingdoms of Dust, which is a very good thing. And so today's darling comes to you from the fuuuuuture:

"You'll have to oil them or they'll chip," Asheris said, running a strand of opals through his fingers. "The desert isn't kind to fragile things."

"Things like me?" Isyllt tried to smile, but it didn't fit properly.

His thumb brushed her cheek, soft as a kiss. "You're a diamond. Cold and sharp, but you'll weather anything."
