What are whole wheat sourdough pancakes?

When I last visited matociquala, I brought home one of the late, lamented Eddie Elmerson's siblings. Today I finally used Edgar (Eddie II) in a modification of the top recipe here, and lo, these pancakes are delicious.

My version, which was pretty madlibbed, used a cup of starter (fed with all purpose flour), a cup of wheat flour and half a cup of white, a cup of distilled water, oil instead of butter, two tablespoons of brown sugar plus a generous drizzle of honey, and some extra milk when it came out a bit on the thick side.

Girl vs. Wall, extremely pinchy toe edition

Dudes! I totally cheated my way to the top of an easy 5.11-! It's probably more of a 5.10, and it's on the slab, but still--it was hard enough. I also sent a slab 5.10 that is also definitely rated too high for its difficulty. But hey, I'm getting better with pinchy little holds.

Darling: Why yes! Thanks to jmeadows and her fabulous links, I have written a whole scene of fabulous self-indulgence. I fear I may eventually have to cut or trim it, so I will post it here for posterity. ( In which Isyllt plays with squid )

Deaths: several dozen squid
Mean things: Nope, I love her and gave her squid.
Quirks. Isyllt really likes teaching, and not just with squid. She also enjoys terrorizing underclassmen. Also, I learn that she's very focused during overseas assignments, but will exposit and expound all day at home. She may in fact be Isylltana Jones.

After writing that, I really want to try squid ink pasta. It looks so loathsome and delicious.
