Bookkeeping, the plague years

Less boring content is nowhere to be found.

2. Murder of Angels - Caitlin R. Kiernan (reread)

3. Above - [livejournal.com profile] cristalia (in draft)

There. That removed the nasty puppy-kicking aftertaste.

I don't actually have plague, but I've had a scratchy throat and general lack of list for three days now. Application of tea, soup, and orange juice appear to be keeping it at bay, but not entirely defeating it. Sadly, the first thing to go along with my list is my will and/or ability to string words together in pleasing ways.

I do, however, have a new front door, to replace the one that was rotting and rusting and falling apart. Now I have to decide what color to paint it--I'm torn between hobbit-hole green and red to match my living room.

I said do you know where the wild roses grow, so sweet and scarlet and free?

Story ideas recorded for posterity:

I have a rose trellis outside my bathroom window (Riff Raff and Magenta having miraculously survived a year in my care). When the wind blows just right, thorns scrape the glass with the most unholy rusty shrieking sound. This makes me want to write an insomniac sleeping beauty story. If I could tie in Nick Cave with a rock in his fist somehow, that would be extra win.
