I can't decide what to do today. I could write, but my house is a mess, and I need to have a jewelry sale of the off chance of making it to Readercon. I was going to write choices on the cats and make them fight in Thunderdome, but they're all asleep. Only an LJ poll can save me now.

[Poll #1202165]
ETA: The sale continues over here!
ETA: You guys are wonderful! Also, you've cleaned me out. I will definitely be posting more jewelry either tonight or tomorrow, so check back. If you've paid for something, I will have it in the mail on Friday, Ceiling Cat willing and the creek don't rise.
All old jewelry must go! $5 shipping anywhere, or $7 for multiple items. The sale will last until I decide it's over, but at least two weeks, and I may be adding more pieces. (Amber, amethyst, leopardskin jasper, silver roses!)
The Forest in Winter, $15 - Either agate or jasper--I'm not entirely sure--and moonstone. ON HOLD

Light from a dead star
Jun. 9th, 2008 11:55 pm"Flood"
Words today/past couple of days: 1853
Words total: 1853
Reason for stopping: leaving Austin Java, and now it's late
Tyop: none I noticed
Darling: (still my darling from when I started this damn thing years ago) Evie's fingers still for a moment, a warm weight on Nan's scalp. "What's that word you told me about stars? The light we see that doesn't exist anymore?"
"Fossil light?"
"Yes." She sighs again, and Nan's head rises and falls with the movement. "That's you. You're not really here. And I'm afraid by the time I find you, you'll be gone."
Mean things: trauma, botched suicide, angst
Quirks: I started this damn thing nearly three years ago, and just recently figured out the plot. (By which I mean I made Steven figure out the plot for me.) The opening is still a bit awkward and unsexy, but I finally know where the damn thing is going.
Thank you everyone who bought something in the jewelry sale, or who expressed appreciation of the shinies. Since tonight was a rousing success, I'll try to put more up tomorrow.
