Never mind any of the other reasons, I'd vote for Obama just because his website tells me more about the state primary and caucus in 10 seconds than I got in 15 minutes of googling and reading the state Democrat site. Including answering the most important question of all: Can I leave after I sign it? And the answer is yes.

That's right, kids. Caucusing: it's just like that boring government class you skipped out of as soon as the roll sheet went by. That's reassuring.

It looks like I'll be spamming LJ today. Sorry about that. But at least it won't be all about the Texas caucus.

Yesterday I discovered Anne Sexton while looking for epigraphs for Pinion. (I'm slow when it comes to discovering poets, I know.)

The epigraph, from "The Fallen Angels" is:

O fallen angel,
the companion within me,
whisper something holy
before you pinch me
into the grave.

And now one of my antags found a poem she likes a lot:

Her Kind )

I love that poem, and I love Asha a little more for liking it. Pity she's still batshit insane...

Okay, I will now try to write and leave you nice people alone for a few hours.

I'm still not much clearer on the purpose of caucusing, but it involves standing in an elementary school gym for two hours, forming various lines and counting. Also some shouting and clapping. It was generally rather pleasant, if you like bonding with humans and that sort of thing, and there were hot chicks. I can't help but feel that punch and pie would have improved the whole affair, though.

However, it was lovely to walk into my district's polling place and not immediately think My god, look at all these white people.
