Girl vs. paint, part II

Walls painted: 2 1/2
Cats painted: still none, amazingly
Smudges on the ceiling: 5, I think
Jeans ruined: 1 pair. I knew I should have stuck with pantless painting, dammit.

This is taking a ridiculous amount of time, for a smallish room. Everyone should come over and have a pantless painting party with me! Bring ladders.

And while subbing things may feel like writing, it really isn't. So I should get on with that. This march won't force itself.

Creepy alien artifacts discovered on other worlds--played the fuck out, or still room for exploration? Or should I just wallow in every cliche I can find?

Taxi zum Mars

Not so much with the marching today, but I did print out TDC, so I can reread and figure out what the heck is going on. I know what needs to happen, I just need the momentum to get there.

"Teneral" is a horrible wicked nogood story. Not only is Miss Muffet mean to me, but it wants to be part of an interconnected series of stories. And for that, I need worldbuilding. And that scares me. I'm not sure why, when I could easily screw up existing settings in any of my Cthulhuverse stories--and probably have--but I definitely have the fear. Why won't it just be porn?

I succumbed to the urge to ego-google tonight, and found an old-but-lovely review of "Flotsam" at Emerald City. Writer cat is pleased. I reread said fish story this morning before subbing it, and realized that I had another setting option for "Summer-Colored" (it's sequel). Siobhan having wacky adventures in Berlin is somehow much more enticing than wacky adventures in New York. Maybe there is hope for that story after all.

I thought I had something else to say, but now it escapes me. I also notice I'm posting a lot this month. :P Obviously I need to paint more. For now, I will take my ms to bed and stab it till it cries.
