For those of you interested in the tattooing process, day five brings us peeling scabs. I am being good and not scratching them off. The skin under the scabbing is tender if poked, but otherwise I can't feel anything. Do penile tattoos scab and peel too? That seems as though it might be a bit disconcerting.

In other news, this is our first night in our fully operation battle house. Hopefully the water will be hot in the morning. And wherever the old owner is now, I hope he's being chased by mold monsters. Clean your damn fridge before you leave! Tomorrow I start painting.

I'm trying to figure out how to balance the two forced marches I need to begin--Operation Finish the Novel, and Operation Write More Shorts. The novel I was going to do when the next round of Nin90 starts on the first, but I'm not sure about the shorts. I could always do them simultaneously, I suppose. Who's going to suffer with me? [livejournal.com profile] cristalia? [livejournal.com profile] kafkonia? Bueller?

Walls painted: almost one
Walls left: three and some change
Smudges on the ceiling: errr...four
Cats painted: miraculously, none
Injuries inflicted on self: one

I shall rejoin the battle, while there's still light.

The paint battle was never rejoined. Instead we investigated karaoke night at a local bar. Disturbingly, I think I could butcher Stevie Nicks songs pretty well. I may try that next year.

Hey [livejournal.com profile] mitsubachi, how do you feel about booze and public embarrassment?

Tomorrow, though, the dining room falls. And if I am truly virtupus, I will steam clean the carpets.

Tomorrow also begins the Short Story March of '07. If you are participating, work on a short story. Keep working on it every day until you finish. Then start another one. Stop when you have written a metric fuckload. Or three. Three might be enough.

I should pick a story. Or someone else pick one for me.
