Blargh and stuff and stuff and blargh
Nov. 17th, 2006 11:30 amIt's Friday. Entertain me. Fortunately, I won't be around all day to spam you, since I'm leaving for Austin in three hours to see the Deftones, but that's still three hours for me to think up inane posts about cats. Or books.
I keep telling myself that I should stop waiting for short stories to come to me and go hunt them down with sticks. But then every time I set a deadline and reach it, I bollox up the ending. This is the third time this year (although this one is not as bad as the last two times). I'm not sure if this is some weird plateau, or if my writer-brain is just a perfidous wretch.
I need two more short stories this year to meet my goal--which, being eight stories, is not overly ambitious. Hopefully "Catch" and "Wounded in the Wing" will get themselves together in the next month. I would also like to fix "Blue Valentine" in December, because its brokenness offends me.
Maybe next year my goal will be nine finished stories. Madness, I say!
TDC has new antags now, including creepy assassin-twins, of whom I'm already quite fond, even though they haven't shown up yet. I wonder if I can arrange some sort of ball or something in the first third of the book to introduce all the new people. Everybody likes a ball, right?
