The writer at work (fun in my brain)

Fun the first--What is up with Isyllt and her addiction to dysfunctional relationships? She only seems capable of being attracted to someone if:

• it will end tragically
  
• they aren't human
  
• they're secretly an antag (double points for inhuman antags)
  
• they'll leave her, or are unwilling/unable to commit
  
• they won't stop her from leaving.
  

When I rescued characters from the sinking ship that was Falling Towers and carried them to their new bookhome, one of the rescues was her boy from FT. She was crazy about him in FT. Now she won't give him the time of day. I do not get this--he's a good boy. Cute, smart, a little geeky, knows several languages and how best to blood-eagle someone. And he's still crazy about her.

If I press her about this, all she'll tell me is that he doesn't hurt enough.

When gay moss trolls attack

When I read truepenny's post on gay moss troll similes, I thought I'll need to figure that out one day. Little did I know, today would be that day.

I've been mugged by a story, which is all sovay's fault. It has boy-whores and oracles and demons and haunted palaces. And it's set in Isyllt's hometown, Erisín. That's where the moss trolls come in.

In 36k of TDC, and the 15k I wrote on the second book, I never needed terms for gay/bi/straight. Now it seems I do. Any suggestions? The language of this particular area has lots of unGreek and notLatin, so roots from those would be okay.
