It sure is flat up here...

Or, yanno, I just feel like whining on LJ.
I have been having structural problems with the last few stories. "Garden" gave me a lot of fuss about structure, and though I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, it still feels weirdly shaped in my head. "Blue Valentine" fussed too, and came out broken. I'm still not sure how to fix it. "Flood" is so lacking in structure that I can't get more than 1500 words in, even though I know what happens. And now "Aconite & Rue" is throwing fits.
And they all came out longer than I intended.
Gah!
I suppose one day I'll move past this, and will have learned something interesting, or have better stories. Or something.

Or maybe I should add more explosions.

The first half of this story is better than I thought it was yesterday. The parts I liked yesterday are now a hideous mess. I have lost all pacing skills. Send help.
