In less than 24 hours, I'll be on a plane to Wiscon. I still need to do another load of laundry, I think, and pack, and select plane books. Right now I'm leaning heavily toward not taking my laptop, though I might succumb at the last minute. I'm probably succumbing right now. Darnit. It's heavy and a nuisance going through security and generally unwieldy, but how can I go 4 days without communicating to the outside world?

Shirts! I need shirts! Is it still warm in Madison?

I hope this con shakes loose a few short stories, because I am going to go crazy if I don't get something new written soon. My goal of 9 new stories this year is fast falling by the wayside.

And, because your f-list needed this one more time, the list of the twenty worst literary agents, via Absolute Write. The kerfluffle regarding Absolute Write and Lousy Agent #4 is chronicled here . I think the moral is, don't use web hosting from a PA author.

Barbara Bauer should really look for a new line of work. Possibly Nigerian bank spam, or posing as an invalid on a street corner somewhere.

College students are like stray cats. Once they know you'll feed them--or in this case, give them jobs--, they bring all their friends.
