Oct. 13th, 2005 11:11 amThe time of madness approaches. LJ entries will become even more rambly and nonsensical for the next two months or so.
I've started poking at Prayers in anticipation of NaNo. Yesterday I gave a character a brain tumour. Whee! Hopefully I can untangle enough plot threads to get some sort of idea of the structure of the first 3rd or 4th of the book.
I find myself with a character in the role of "normal person who finds herself swept into bizarre events". Blargh. It is not a role I normally like, and I must find a way to pull it off without reaching for the stabbity knives.
I also find my characters congregating into clumps. It seems to fall out with ghouls on one side and ghosts and humans on the other. Maybe they'll play dodge ball.
Short stories gave me a little peace--I can already feel it unraveling. At least I have a bottle of chartreuse to see me through November.
And I keep telling myself that I'll be frugal and not get sushi at the Union, but my resolve quails in the face of dragon rolls.
Back to the plot mines. Tumours for everyone!
