Down Down Down
May. 16th, 2005 02:06 amAll my novels hate me and won't speak to me, but I found a friendly short story to keep me warm at night. Following in the tradition of Ebb, it's a sappy sea story with a one-word title.
"Wrack"
Words tonight: 1259
Words total: 1259
Reason for stopping: too tired to deal with awkward conversations
Sustenance: chai and tzatziki
Assistance: snuggles from Fafnir
Darling: The calm of his voice surprised him a little, like he cut mermaids out of trawl nets every day.
Books in progress: Kim Wilkins The Autumn Castle, GGK Sailing to Sarantium, Karin Lowachee Cagebird and bunches of others.
At this rate I'll have enough for a Lovecraftian romance anthology of my own.
I went over Rain Dogs again and tightened it a bit. I don't know how to make Nathan protag any more than he does, and I lack the necessary objectivity to see the bits that confuse people. Maybe I'll sit on it for a while and see if anything hatches.
